Virtual: Skywatchers- WEATHER OR NOT Online
Did you know that astronomy and meteorology have forever been a tightly linked couple - through better or worse? Employing folly, folklore, hard facts, and historical data, we'll discover the commonality between quirky things like the aurora borealis, the Dog Days of Summer, antiquated moon proverbs, the Salem Witch Trials, modern satellite images, and "everything under the sun!" Join us for a discussion about advancements in weather forecasting here on earth due to meteorological satellites plus run-down on solar flares, sunspots, Martian dust storms, Jupiter’s Red Spot, and lots of other fun facts!! Speaker Jann Glove.
