CANCELLED Sweeping Sagas of American History Found in the Attic In-Person
What do the Texas Revolution, the Mormon Migration to Kirtland, and the Sultana Disaster of the Civil War have in common? The individual lives of people swept up in these sagas were described in old letters found in the attics of Lake and Geauga Counties. The unassuming collections of old letters and documents could easily have been thrown away and the stories lost, but thankfully they are preserved. Come hear the stories of a tragic poet and painter, the exhumation of a young woman who was possibly murdered by her husband and her maid, and a survivor’s account of the United States worst maritime disaster. Then ask yourself, “What’s in my attic?”
