Tales from the Crypt (four-part series)

Tales from the Crypt (four-part series) In-Person

Who is buried in your local cemetery? Do you know their stories? Learn local history through the cemetery! Pick from a list of people buried in Chardon Municipal Cemetery then learn about them using Local History and Genealogy Resources in the Allyn Room.

Part 1 – Pick your historic person and find their grave in the cemetery. Spooky or peaceful?

Part 2 – Presenter Alexandra Strawbridge will talk about presenting an historic character in first-person interpretation. She makes her own period costumes to wear to reenactments. She will come in costume as local Suffragist Frances Casement.

Part 3 – Do you think local history research is boring? Guess again! You will learn about your cemetery person using the Allyn Room resources (with a little help from the Allyn Room librarians).

Part 4 – Present a short essay about your cemetery person – in first-person wearing a costume or as yourself. Weather permitting, presentations will be graveside!
