The 1832 opening of the Ohio and Erie Canal created an economic boom for entrepreneurs and Ohio farmers to ship products east, while “fancy eastern goods” became available to Ohioans. Enjoy the history of the “Big Ditch” and its impact on northeastern Ohio.
